Successful Workshop on Nanomaterials in Medicine

The 2nd International Workshop on Nanomaterials in Health/Medicine, organised by Dr Tapas Sen and hosted at UCLan, Preston on 16th January was attended by speakers and delegates from Italy, India, Greece and around the UK.
Presentations on Nanomedicine research, bio-imaging, and drug delivery across biological barriers, were supported by those on UK and Indian projects and UK and USA collaborations in nanomedicine research.
An award for the best poster presentation was given to authors from UCLan for their subject ‘Synthesis of nanosponges from animal red blood cells and their application in treating bacterial infections.’
The event was attended and supported by founders of the Society for Functional Nanomaterials who announced the date and venue of the 2nd International Symposium on Functional Nanomaterials in Industrial Applications: Academic-Industry Meet, 12th-13th September 2018 at UCLan, Preston.
A call for new Society members also raised.
